The Admiral is a wonderful sanctuary amidst the hustle and bustle of Manila. The service from everybody was exceptional. Everything is very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I was delighted to stay there and would definitely return.

A beautifully appointed hotel, with lot's of history and great staff - perfect for staying inside.

We were very fortunate this hotel was as fantastic as it was, as the area can be a challenge and we spent quite some time there, which we very much enjoyed. We stayed there at the start and end of our trip. Almost everything about the hotel is truly exceptional, lead by the tremendous staff and it's insanely beautiful and high end fit out. The history of the building is remarkable and worth looking into. The rooms are beautifully appointed, spacious, extremely comfortable. We were fortunate to get an ocean view premium room, which we can't recommend enough. The club lounge is excellent, especially highlighted by the team of staff, as is the coffee shop. The water views and infinity pool are nice to have, especially on a sunny day and the spa is top notch. The gym is ok and at least has more than just a treadmill. Ruby Wong's speak easy bar is very cool, it's just a shame the restaurant didn't match it. The buffet breakfast is solid. We were able to walk to the Intramuros (the old town), which we enjoyed, but we would recommend most people get a car.

The location is very difficult. For those who haven't been, distances are slowly travelled and you should bank on about 4km in 30 minutes to 1 hour. Whilst it is near the water, the area is extremely deprived. We walked to the Intramuros (the old town). It's not too far, but you walk though old Manila and Malate full of beautiful old buildings, from a bygone area, but now severely neglected, with high levels of poverty, which is quite confronting. It truly was very sad to see. The sad part is, that there is nothing else in the area, other than this, so it's quite heartbreaking, especially when so many of the locals, even though their hard ship, always were able to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. The people of this country are wonderful, however, for most people we would recommend taking a car almost everywhere. On our first stay we caught a grab one evening to Ortiga and getting back proved to be very difficult as many drivers wouldn't travel that far. We managed to negotiate with a taxi driver to take us back. On our second stay, we organised drivers with the concierge and these were always on time and fantastic, to take us to different areas of Manila. Once we were able to see other aspects of Manila and to see that it was not all doom and gloom, we really started to appreciate this huge multi faceted city. The hotel is wonderful, in a landmark building, just unfortunately in a very neglected and sad part of the city. The only thing that lets the hotel down is the Ruby Wong restaurant being very substandard and hugely overpriced and an ok, but not brilliant buffet, in a town where excellent ones are common.

Great room and view

Room was clean. Amenities were nice, and it had a great view. Loved the way that the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Lounge was really comfortable and has a good atmosphere to relax.

Pool was small and the area was relatively unkempt compared to the rest of the hotel. During checkout, staff will not provide customer copy by default unless asked. Not much to do around the location.

Interesting art deco hotel with topnotch facilities.

I really liked the hotel overall especially the pool area.

The dinner buffet didn't look great so we decided to eat elsewhere. I hope they improve it. Also it took so long to get our housekeeping request like water, but could be the volume of guests at that time.

Great hotel, however payment issues to be aware of

The hotel was great. It was close to the airport and main sites, and the rooms were very clean with everything you needed. They had their own teas which were nice, and these were provided free on charge in the room. There was also a coffee machine and cups if you wanted to take it away.

When I arrived they charged a deposit to my credit card, as well as the price for the 2 nights we stayed. We were told they would only charge the deposit. This was frustrating as I wanted to use a different card to pay. They apologised on check out. I paid for the 2 nights on a different card and they advised they would cancel the other charges on the different card, but this has still not happened despite me checking out several days ago. The other minor complaint is we wanted to go to the Ruby Red restaurant for dinner that is advertised on their website, however this was booked for a private function so we couldn't go. No staff told us this until we tried to go to the restaurant for dinner.

Friendly staff. Hotel was good but preferred the Conrad Manila

Toilet leaked and flooded. Engineering patched the hole but later that day, toilet didn’t work. Had to call engineering again. Door card reader cover fell off. Shower faucet cover in spa fell off.

Loved everything about it! Wish we stayed longer. It is worth every cent. We loved the pool and the breakfast buffet. The staff were incredibly nice and very accommodating. The rooms were lovely and the beds were so comfy!

The deposit I had to put up....there was no mention till check in and u couldnt put a creadit card on file and pay via card in the end....if u put the deposit on a card and not charge anything while staying there it takes 2-3 weeks to get it back
